250 words of why I chose Landscape

I chose to focus on landscape because I think in some ways it can produce some of the most beautiful photo's. Some people tend to say its an easy option however I disagree. Taking a photo of beautiful scenery, or something significant and well known e.g. Big Ben, most people can accomplish. However, taking a photo of something everyday and making that beautiful is what I strive to achieve. Landscape has so many options to go into, whether it be scenery, building and architecture, poverty or even everyday activities, there is so much to capture. I like the fact there are no limitations, no right or wrong answers. Some images can be personal, whether they're of the area you live in, or even your very own back garden, expanding all the way to some where else on the other side of the country. When taking my own landscape my aim for them to intrigue people, I don't just want a pretty picture but something or some where that will get people thinking and questioning behind it. Also, not all landscape images are what you see is what you get, a lot of them have so much meaning and death behind them it's almost impossible for them to just be a picture. Artists who's work i'm highly inspired by is Marchand and Meffre, as they're work is everything I expect landscape photography to be about. Even thought their images consist of run down abandoned buildings, their work is very much alive.
